It was getting real complex up in here! Barbell complexes are a great tool for CrossFitters. A series of continuous barbell or dumbell sets and reps is a great way to build strength and stamina. We must give credit to Istvan Javorek for supposedly being the first in the world to develop this concept of combination lifts. Over the years coaches have been very creative and more specific to certain goals or sport.
Here is an example of one of his complexes:
- Barbell Upright Row x 6
- Barbell High Pull Snatch x 6
- Barbell Behind the Head Squat Push Press x 6
- Barbell Behind the Head Good Morning x 6
- Barbell Bent Over Row x 6
