Hodinky

"Hodinky" in Czech means WRISTWATCH.  At SV, we do so much for time.  Make every second of everyday COUNT!  The timepiece is an important tool in quantifying fitness.

When we pace our workouts, we want to make sure every movement, every breath, every rest interval is properly accounted for.  We want to seize moments of least resistance and find the best strategy to conquer the WODs.  I would like you to know what you are capable of doing and maximize your current work capacity.  In the middle of a timed WOD ask yourself how much rest time you actually need. Take for example the WOD "30 Muscle Ups for Time".  Is it worth resting more than a minute to perform 3 more consecutive reps after doing say, 4 in a row?  We train to be able to do many consecutive reps with minimal rest time in between.  In the interim, grabbing 1 to 2 reps with little rest (5-10 seconds) is a solid strategy.  Of course, this all depends on the WOD given variance in gymnastic work capacity.

If we were filled with green gamma rays and endless adrenaline, go consecutive all the way! With training and practice, you will know what the body's engine can give.  With efficient movement, you will be able to grab more consecutive reps with minimal rest.  Take some time to strategize and understand the pace for different WODs before jumping in too hard to fast.

Time flies, so will you!
